Service Request

Explain restrictions (or not) of uploading MS ACCESS mdb files to an OpenSG shared documents folder.

Details

OpenSG SG Comm SG-Network TF is creating a MS ACCESS mdb to hold and expand capabilities for analysis and comsuming the business functional and volumetric requirements for the Smart Grid focused on the actors, interfaces, network traffic. Current system admin rules are blocking the upload of the MS ACCESS file directly to the SG-Network's shared documents folders. It is currently possible to zip the mdb ending with a much smaller file size (a good thing) and a file extension of zip. Is it acceptable to proceed to upload a zip version of the mdb, or is it a policy/restriction of UCAiug or OpenSG not to allow storage of executable files in the Sharepoint site? Please advise as the TF would really like to share out the MS ACCESS db. Why did we select MS ACCESS, the easiest to collaborate with at the moment between the contributors.
