The NAESB ESPI committee and executive committee has approved and ratified the first version of Energy Services Provider Interface (ESPI), meeting OpenADE requirements for exchange of PAP10-compliant usage data. The implementable standard model business practice can be obtained from the NAESB office, naesb@naesb.org. Several initiatives are looking at using ESPI for Smart Grid initiatives, including the OSTP Green Button initiative, and PEV submetering. Work is progressing within UCAIug and OpenADE toward the ability to certify implementations against the ESPI standard.
